As Devi lazily lounged around her humble abode, she couldn’t ignore this unrelenting sensation of restlessness gnawing at her all day. Despite her best efforts to distract herself with various activities, this eerie feeling persisted, as if her mind was yearning for something she couldn’t grasp. Devi started staring out the window and couldn’t help but feel a sense of melancholy. Though life is a simple bitter and sweet tale, all she was invested in at that moment through her thoughts was the bitter aspect of it.

The rain was pouring down outside, creating a dull and gloomy atmosphere. Devi had planned to go out and run some errands, but the weather had put a damper on her plans. She sat there, watching the raindrops trickle down the glass. Its gentle patter against the windows and roof creates a therapeutic white noise that can ease even the most anxious souls into tranquility. Devi decided to make the most of her day indoors as the rain continued to fall. She wore cozy clothes, made tea, and settled down with a good book. The rain provided the perfect backdrop for a lazy day of relaxation and self-care. As the hours passed, the rain began to slow and eventually stopped altogether.

Now that Devi had relaxed indoors, she felt a shift in her mood. She decided to walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the scenery and stretch her legs after a day of lounging around. Devi noticed the rain left the streets glistening with raindrops, and everything looked clean and vibrant. Though she was enjoying the walk in cool and calm weather, Devi couldn’t help but think about the progress she needed to make and how frustrated she was to be stuck in a rut, unable to focus and make progress. But she refused to give up. Devi knew that pushing forward and staying determined would eventually help her find the motivation and clarity to get back on track.

By letting all those thoughts disturb her peace, Devi moved ahead. As Devi progressed, she noticed that the rain had brought out the beauty of the plants and flowers. The leaves looked greener, and the colors of the flowers seemed more vibrant. It was as if the rain had given everything a new lease on life. The leaves and flowers were gently swayed in the rain, and the air was perfumed with the invigorating fragrance of damp earth. After a continued walk, Devi stumbled upon a small park she had never seen before. It was tucked away between two buildings and was surrounded by trees and shrubs. The park had a small pond in the centre, and she could see blush pink lotus flowers that were in full bloom floating on the surface. Devi decided to sit on one of the benches and watch the beautiful site. It was a peaceful and calming moment, and she felt grateful for the unexpected discovery. The rain had allowed her to slow down and appreciate life’s simple pleasures, and she felt thankful for the experience.

‘The rain had led me to this hidden gem’, sighed Devi. It was a reminder that sometimes the best things in life are found when we least expect them. Devi felt a sense of contentment as she made her way home. The rain had turned what could have been a mundane day into a beautiful adventure. It reminded her that even on the gloomiest of days, there is still beauty to be found.

‘I feel like my anxiety is less than how my day was set up. It’s amazing how a little downtime can make a big difference in my feelings. I’m grateful for the chance to unwind and recharge, and I can tackle the rest of my day with renewed energy and focus,’ thought Devi with a silent and relaxed sigh!

‘I’m glad I could do this today,’ sighed Devi as she understood the importance of self-love and prioritizing one’s mental and emotional well-being.

Following that day, Devi continued to work on her projects and took small steps towards her daily goals, trusting that progress would come in due time. And it did. With each small accomplishment, she felt a sense of satisfaction and pride that fueled her to keep going. Devi learned that progress is not always linear, but as long as she displays patience and stays committed to the process, the destination is close!

“Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.” – Aristotle.

When we think of life, is it the same? A little bitter and a little sweet.

I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions most of the time. On the one hand, life can be challenging and full of bitter moments – loss, heartbreak, and disappointment, to name a few. But on the other hand, life is also filled with sweet moments – love, laughter, and joy. This balance of bitter and sweet makes life so beautiful and not mundane. The bitterness makes us appreciate the sweetness even more, and the sweetness helps us get through the bitterness. It’s a constant cycle, and I wouldn’t want it any other way!
