These past few weeks have been exhausting and the loss of a loved one had left me disturbed and sad! I am not expressive when it comes to loss. I usually keep to myself and do not let anyone know.

Amidst of this, I received a message from a friend and fellow blogger; he tagged me to take up this post on all about books. I must say it was the best diversion which I was in need of and I enjoyed answering each and every question asked!

Thank you Vinay for tagging and introducing me to this concept!

I wish to tag all my readers for this post under A Book Lovers Tag! In-case you cannot take it up for some reason, I would be delighted to know which genre you prefer in books and what is your favorite book? Do leave a comment and let me know!

Without further nagging, let me get back to questions quickly!

1. Do you have a specific place for reading?
I don’t have a specific place to read as such. I usually read at night, when it is calm and peaceful without any disturbance. When I am reading, my cent percent concentration is on the book I am reading, as I do not want any interference in my imagination while I read! My dad once dropped a glass near me to check if I was acting like I am ignorant of what is going on around me or it is my genuine way of reading. Well, I did not even tilt my head, as I did not hear anything! Being so lost in books makes me happy in a way!

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I love bookmarks and sometimes make them on my own, in my free time! If I am carrying a book, then it always has a bookmark! Recently, on my visit to Puri, I purchased a really cool bookmark made of palm leaf with painting of Lord Jagannath on it.

3. Do you eat or drink whilst reading?
A strict no from me to eat or drink while reading! Reason for it is that I spend a lot of time in worrying about my book losing its beauty because of food stains! Which also diverts my attention and I lose my concentration while reading; which I do not prefer! Crazy, I know!

4. Music or TV whilst reading?
None; Like I mentioned earlier, I prefer my surroundings to be peaceful and quiet when reading. In case it is unavoidable and someone else is watching TV, then I usually prefer to read in my room or else try not to face the TV while I read.

5. One book at a time or several?
In my case, be it of any genre, I read one at a time. Irrespective of the genre, I feel excited about reading and it builds up a certain curiosity factor in me, which doesn’t drain from my body until unless I complete that book. So, the concept of reading several books at a time doesn’t sync well with me!

6. Do you prefer to read at home or elsewhere?
I love reading at home the most, as we have that bonus “Comfort” at home! That being said, it doesn’t stop me from reading books when I am out of my “comfort zone”. I can resume my reading anywhere.

7. Read out loud or silently?
Silently…ALWAYS! Why bother to read aloud when the thoughts conveyed in books resonate loudly in my head!

8. Do you read ahead or skip pages?
Even though I am very curious to know the end, I tend to read page by page rather than fast forwarding by skipping pages or directly peeping into the last page. I enjoy that feeling of being on the edge with curiosity kicking in!

9. Break the spine or keep it like new?
Break the spine? OMG! I cannot even imagine that! I never spoil my books and try my best to keep them as good as possible. Usually my books look like new even after I’m done reading; sometimes even after reading twice or thrice!

10. Do you write in books?
Wait what?!?!?! NO. Period.

11. What books are you reading now?
You already know by now that I read one book at-a-time. So, “Devlok” it is; written by Devdutt Pattanaik.

12. What is your childhood favorite book?
“Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” by J.K.Rowling. It apparated me to the world of fantasy!

13. What is your all-time favorite book?
Well! It is tough to point out a single book! I guess it depends on age. I already mentioned my childhood favorite book was Harry Potter, and later as I grew up, my love for fiction has changed to love for philosophy! Though I love reading fiction even now, my favorite genre would be philosophy. So, as of now my all-time favorite book is “The Fountainhead” by Ayn Rand. I am yet to read “Altas Shrugged”; again by Ayn Rand. I hope it will beat my current favorite!

That’s it for now! You can share your thoughts about my answers in the comments, or take up this book tag yourself – let me know if you do.

Happy reading and book tagging!
