I clicked this photo at my Native (Tippapur). This was when we were trying to cook raw Custard Apple in that fire we lit in our backyard!

That’s a gorgeous capture… Loved the flames ??
Thanks a lot 🙂
Raw custard apple would be shareefa? I am curious abt this? Pls tell me more.
You are right Shalini!
Yes! Also called as sitafal 🙂 In villages, sometimes people cook it on fire before it is completely ripe…
Wow i didnt know this. Wondering at the taste
Worth a try!
So happy to see you join in, Keerthi! That’s a glowing fire you’ve captured beautifully in your frame. Btw, how do you cook the custard apple. Just roasting it, is it? I never knew you could also eat it this way.
I planned to join #wordlessWednesday last week itself Esha, but couldn’t make it 🙁 Thanks for stopping by. Yes, in our native, sometimes people cook it before it is completely ripe by roasting it. I was curious about how it would taste and wanted to try it. So our neighbor cooked it or me 🙂
That’s a great shot Keerthi. I love it. I have never had custard apple roasted in fire. I should try that 🙂
Thanks for stopping by 🙂 It tasted good! It shouldn’t be completely ripe or completely raw when u roast it, give it a try 🙂
Custard apple on fire? Interesting. And the pic is amazing by the way 🙂
Yeah! I had same thoughts when i first heard it, so gave it a try 🙂 Thank you Ashwini for stopping by 🙂
That’s quite a picture. The flames emanate a warmth somehow. And custard apple roasted raw? Doesn’t quite appeal to me. I love the soft sweet creamy taste of the ripe custard apple
Yeah even i felt that it would be dry and tasteless but it was not the case. Raw in the sense i meant not completely ripe so there was a bit of sweetness. I am glad you liked it! Thanks for dropping by and leaving your imprints 🙂
Beautiful pic! I didn’t know raw custard apple is baked. What do you have it with then?
Yeah in villages ppl usually roast it in fire sometimes. Raw in the sense on fully ripe so it will have a slight sweet touch. Just roast, cut it open and scoop the pulp out! Have it just like that.
I am glad you liked it! Thanks for dropping by and leaving your imprints 🙂
