It was a bright Sunday morning; I was having a lovely chat with my dear friend. We spoke after a really long time, so naturally, we were jumping onto a multitude of topics, and one of those was about a lip balm. My friend told me all about this brand called DEYGA and how she loved the Beetroot lip balm and its soothing effect.
I am not a beauty buff. The only products I use are kajal and lip balm. Even among those two products, I always neglect lip balm for some reason. Lip balm, for me, is like those misplaced reading glasses of my grandpa; always in sight when I don’t need it and nowhere to be seen when I actually need it. I still remember how excited I was to try that lip balm my friend told me about. Naturally, I completely forgot about it once I got engaged in my busy schedule the next day.
But to my surprise, three months post that discussion with my friend, I got an email from DEYGA asking me to try and review some of their products!
Firstly, the sole reason I stay away from beauty or so-called self-care products is because of harmful chemicals. Even the most raved internationally acclaimed brands hide these chemicals under different names that are not easily understandable. So, the first and foremost thing I did after I heard from them was to read about the brand and their products. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised to see only organic ingredients and nothing more. They really stand by their slogan; Choose Pure! If I decide to review the products, I want to ensure that the brand is genuine about its claims. I did my research and went through numerous testimonials by the customers regarding the quality of the products.
Do you know that Deyga products are:
1) Traditional Recipes – They retain the classic tradition and celebrate modern elegance from making to packing.
2) 100% Pure – Made with the purest of ethically sourced organic matter from start to finish.
3) Cruelty-free – In their mission to be 100% natural, they have created a cruelty-free production process.
4) Handcrafted – Their products aren’t about machine-made perfection. They celebrate the handmade grace of unique creations.
5) Sustainable – None of our products come at the cost of the environment. Their processes, ingredients and ideas are an expression of love for Mother Nature.
They literally checked all the boxes any wise person would consider before trying a product for the first time. I felt satisfied and agreed to review the products they offered me.
So, here is me, giving you an unbiased review of the Deyga products that I used for over a month.
Beetroot Lip Balm
Having Chapped or dry lips is a problem faced by men and women alike. Generally, my lips do not tend to dry out much. But, the winter season is a different episode altogether. How much ever or how frequently I tend to apply a lip balm; still, I used to find it next to impossible to keep my lips hydrated and soft all through the winter.
Deyga’s handmade Beetroot Lip Balm is a rich blend of natural beetroot extract, shea butter, avocado oil and beeswax. I used it 2-3 times a day depending on the necessity, especially without a miss at night before going to bed. After using Beetroot lip balm for a month, I could notice a considerable difference. My lips are a lot softer, plum and hydrated throughout the day. Once you apply the lip balm, it stays on for an extended period compared to other lip balms. To touch it almost feels like butter and glides on very quickly. So, a minimal amount of lip balm is enough for a single application.
You can go for it without a second thought. It is a must-have, in my opinion.
Charcoal Bath Bar
The first thing I noticed about this bath bar is it doesn’t have any added distinctive fragrance to it. It was quite an unusual experience for me. The reason is, I never used a bath bar or shower gel that doesn’t have any fragrance. So, frankly, it was weird at first, but I got used to it by now. It also makes sense because it is made of Activated Charcoal Powder, Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Unrefined Shea Butter and Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. All of them are 100% natural ingredients, and none of them has a powerful fragrance.
I use it 2 times a day. My skin is not acne-prone, so I couldn’t test it for its anti-acne properties. I have seen many testimonials by the customers who spoke about it, though. In my case, I could see a visible reduction in blackheads, pigmentation and my skin felt radiant, soft and oil-free. The bath bar generates rich lather, so application-wise, there was no hassle.
I would definitely recommend it. Do keep in mind that this soap bar doesn’t last long like any other regular bath bar. If I have to point out a con, this aspect would be the only con in this product.
Aloe Vera Gel
I cannot talk enough about this product. It was a game-changer for me. First of all, all it contains is cold-pressed Aloe vera extract and Aloe hydrosol. That’s it, nothing more. Aloe hydrosol is made by steam distilling the leaves of the aloe vera plant. Hydrosol of any plant, leaves or flower is considered valuable and precious because of its healing properties.
So, in a nutshell, this product of Deyga’s is as pure as aloe vera gel can get. If you ask me, it deserves the price tag it comes with for the quality you get. Nowadays, even the topmost brands that sell aloe vera gel in the market add artificial colours and chemicals to give a visual representation of the green colour.
In my experience, using the Deyga Charcoal bath bar to wash my face, followed by the application of Aloe vera gel, worked wonders for me. Even my friends noticed the difference in my skin texture and radiance. Generally, Aloe Gel is perfect for all skin types, but make sure to do a patch test before directly applying it to the face.
I use it only once. That too at night after I wash my face. If you plan on using it during the day, it works well if you use makeup or face powder along with it. If not, there is a high chance that the aloe gel layer on your skin attracts dust and blocks your skin pores. That said, again a must-have product, in my view.
Hair Growth Oil
The plus point of this oil is that it is herb-infused. The oil consists of natural oils such as castor oil, coconut oil, rosemary oil, grapeseed oil, hibiscus, and fenugreek.
I have used it twice a week for a month (twice a week). As of now, the results are slow but positive. So far, my hair looks healthier than before, and hair fall is reduced. However, I have not seen significant hair growth after using it for a month. Maybe there will be visible change after using it for an extended period. I am sure of one thing, it definitely helped with reducing frizz and breakage. If you are going for this product, I suggest giving it a couple of months to notice a visible change.
Also, the root applicator that comes along with the pack is a lifesaver. It helps to equally distribute oil during application. So, no mess and a big plus one for that alone.
Rose & Mulethi FacePack
I am delighted with the result this product had on my face. Frankly, I applied it only 4 times a month, which is once a week. The reason is, I cannot cater time for using face pack more than once a week as my schedule is jam-packed. But still, whenever I used it, I could feel my skin felt light and soft.
I used it by mixing the face pack powder with deyga rose water toner once, but it did not suit my skin. So, later on, I switched rose water with milk. I should have done a patch test once when I used rose water to mix the face pack, but somehow I missed doing it. I strongly recommend doing a patch test, though. The only con is that the mix is not very smooth and doesn’t have a paste-like consistency. So it might seem like a task while applying.
The brand and the customers alike claim that it helps in brightening the skin. In that aspect, the results are not that evident after using it just for a month. I shall update on it later after using it for a few more months. If you can cater time and use face packs, this product is the most natural one you can find in the market.
Foot Butter
It would be unfair to expect wonders from this product if you have a severely damaged foot(soles) like me. As a result of long hours of standing, walking, and a few vitamin deficiencies, I developed cracks. It is a condition that needs utmost care.
The part of the foot where there was not much damage had actually become smoother. So to be fair, it does its job. In my case, my foot care regime needs a lot more work and care than just applying foot butter.
After deep exfoliation of dead skin, I plan to try it and update the results in a few months.
Rose Water Toner
Over the years, I tried many brands in the rose water category, but none of them did suit my skin. I thought Deyga’s alcohol-free Rose Water Toner would be a different experience. But, even though Deyga’s rose water toner is made with 100% natural ingredients, it didn’t suit my skin. It’s just a matter of my sensitive skin nothing wrong with the product, to be fair.
I highly recommend doing a patch test before applying it to the face if you have sensitive skin.
Few things to keep in mind:
1) A patch test is recommended for all the products if you have sensitive skin.
2) All products are all-natural without any added stabilisers/preservatives, SLS, SLES, Parabens, MEA, DEA, TEA, Petrolatum, Phthalates, Ethoxylates and Silicones; hence a concise shelf life (6 to 8 months) when stored in a cool and dry place.
On the whole, it is genuinely a cruelty-free brand, and I feel glad to have used its products. Yes, for some products, a patch test is a must as everyone’s skin type is different. But isn’t that the case with all the other brands out there? If you are looking to switch to sustainable, cruelty-free, organic alternatives in beauty products, then it is high time you give Deyga products a try. I am sure you will not regret the money spent to pamper yourself or a loved one!
